The Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps is mourning the loss of a great man. Judge James Reitz passed away suddenly this morning. Judge Reitz was an honorary member and trustee of the Ambulance Corps. He was a true friend to many including the EMS community. Carmel VAC attended Kids' Day at Putnam Hospital Center

Members attended Putnam Hospital Center Kids' Day on Saturday and gave out over 100 gift bags to kids. Many kids and parents alike enjoyed getting a tour of the ambulance and talking with the crews. This month's drill/training was on CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation). Members refreshed on CPR with manikins and also refreshed on the Lucas device. This is a device that does chest compressions instead of doing them manually. A couple of advantages to the device are that the member is free to do other important things that need to be done during a call like this and the machine can remain constant ...
