On 4/14/21 Carmel Volunteer Ambulance responded to two critical transports out of Putnam Hospital. When a critical patient needs to be transported to a higher level hospital such as the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, they call for a helicopter (Medivac) transport. Carmel Ambulance was called tonight to meet two medivacs for two critical patients. Carmel Ambulance’s dedicated volunteers responded with both ambulances to Putnam Hospital to meet CT LifeStar and Hackensack Med One for two critical patients needing transport. The ambulance assists with transporting the flight crew to the ER and then the crew and patient to the landing zone. It's certainly not every day you see two helicopters at Putnam Hospital at the same time. We wish both of these patients a speedy recovery and all the best.
