Pictures and write-up courtesy of Bob Boeri
With the celebration of Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corporation’s 40th Anniversary in 2009, the Board of Directors with John Koster as president began considering a building expansion to provide additional space and facilities for its members. A proposal was developed and presented to the membership for a building addition and was approved with overwhelming support. Following the necessary building permits, an official ground breaking ceremony for was held on September 6, 2010 with construction by Barcon Builders starting the following day. Carmel Volunteer Ambulance was pleased to receive donations from the community to help offset the cost of construction. The building expansion includes an extended front to the original building, a larger third bay, ready room, office and additional storage space. The addition is being dedicated in memory of John Guido, former captain, life member and trustee. A time capsule is being installed in the building addition to be opened by a future generation of Carmel Ambulance Volunteers.
